5-Day Morocco Honeymoon Tour

Overview

Morocco brings together everything a couple could wish for on their honeymoon: intimate riads full of character, golden sunsets over the Sahara dunes, majestic mountains, and a warmth of hospitality that makes every traveler feel special. This private 5-day tour has been designed exclusively for couples looking for a romantic, relaxed getaway filled with unforgettable moments.

Unlike a group tour, this route always runs in private mode, with an exclusive driver for just the two of you throughout the trip. That means you can set your own pace: sleep in if you want to, linger at a scenic stop for extra photos, or simply enjoy the drive without any rush.

The itinerary combines a night in a Marrakech riad with a private pool, the crossing of the High Atlas to Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate, and the highlight of the journey: a night in a luxury desert camp on the dunes of Erg Chebbi, where you can share a candlelit dinner under a sky full of stars and wake up together to one of the most beautiful sunrises on the planet.

Designed for newlyweds, anniversaries, or simply couples who want to treat themselves to something different, this Morocco honeymoon tour combines romance, authenticity, and comfort in a single trip.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech and Night at a Riad with Private Pool

Our team will pick you up at Marrakech airport or your accommodation and take you to a boutique riad chosen especially for couples, located in the heart of the medina or in a quiet area near the Palmeraie, depending on availability. The room includes access to a private pool, perfect for unwinding after your flight.

In the afternoon you will have free time to wander through the souks, visit Jemaa el-Fna square, or simply relax by the pool. If you wish, we can arrange a romantic dinner on a terrace overlooking the Koutoubia or at a charming restaurant inside the medina.

Day 2: Marrakech - High Atlas - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate

After a relaxed breakfast at the riad, you will head south across the High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi n'Tichka pass, at over 2,200 meters above sea level. The scenery keeps changing along the way: green valleys, Berber villages perched on the hillsides, and spectacular views over the mountain range.

You will stop at the Ait Ben Haddou kasbah, one of the best-preserved examples of earthen architecture in Morocco and a filming location for movies such as Gladiator and series like Game of Thrones. As a couple, you will have time to wander through its narrow lanes at your own pace and climb to the upper viewpoint for sweeping views over the Mellah River valley.

You will continue on to Ouarzazate, where you can visit the Taourirt Kasbah or simply relax before checking into a charming hotel for the night.

Day 3: Ouarzazate - Draa Valley - Merzouga Desert (Erg Chebbi)

Today the route continues toward the Sahara through the Draa Valley, the longest valley in Morocco, dotted with palm oases, adobe kasbahs, and traditional villages. You will make photo stops in Agdez and Zagora, as well as at the Todra Gorge if the itinerary and timing allow.

On arrival in Merzouga, you will leave the vehicle behind and mount camels to venture into the dunes of Erg Chebbi, Morocco's tallest sea of sand, with dunes rising over 150 meters. You will reach the luxury camp just in time to watch the sunset over the dunes, one of the most special moments of the trip as a couple.

In the evening you will enjoy a special candlelit dinner, with live Berber music around the campfire, in a private tent equipped with a double bed and en-suite bathroom.

Day 4: Desert Sunrise - Return Toward Marrakech via Dades

You can wake up very early to watch the sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi, one of the most memorable natural spectacles in all of Morocco, before returning by camel or 4x4 to the base camp for breakfast.

You will begin the journey back toward Marrakech along the kasbah route through the Dades Valley, known as the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, with its striking red rock formations. You will spend the night at a charming hotel in the Dades or Ouarzazate area, depending on availability.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this tour really private for just the two of us?

Yes. This is an exclusively private tour: only the two of you will travel with your driver, with no shared vehicle or itinerary with other couples or groups.

Can you arrange surprises or special decoration for our honeymoon?

Yes. We can coordinate details such as flower petals in the room, a cake, a private dinner with romantic decoration, or a celebration dessert. Just let us know when booking so we can prepare everything in advance.

Is this trip suitable if we're not used to adventure travel?

Absolutely. The pace is relaxed and the accommodations are chosen with comfort as a priority. The desert camp is a luxury category, with comfortable beds and a private bathroom, ideal for those who want authenticity without giving up comfort.

Can we customize the itinerary?

Yes. This tour can be adapted by adding extra nights in Marrakech, including Essaouira or Chefchaouen, or adjusting the pace of each stage according to your preferences.

What should we bring?

Comfortable, lightweight clothing, a jacket or sweater for desert nights (temperatures drop considerably), comfortable footwear, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a camera to capture the trip.

What is the best time of year for this Morocco honeymoon?

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) offer the most pleasant temperatures in both the desert and mountain areas, and are the seasons most couples prefer.

Does the luxury camp have a private bathroom?

Yes, the tents at the luxury camp include a private bathroom with toilet and shower, a comfortable double bed, and electricity, ensuring a comfortable experience in the middle of the desert.

Important Notes

  • We recommend booking in advance, especially during high season (spring and autumn), as riads with private pools and luxury camps have limited availability.
  • The itinerary may be adjusted in the order of stops depending on the season, weather, or local logistics.
  • Please mention any special dates (anniversary, wedding, birthday) when booking so we can prepare a welcome touch for you.
